Soccer participant Jaelene Daniels misses match even though refusing to wear Satisfaction jersey

A Nationwide Women’s Soccer League player sat out of a match Friday right after refusing to use a Pride-themed jersey.

Jaelene Daniels, a defender for the North Carolina Braveness, was not on the field for the team’s sport against the Washington Spirit as aspect of its Delight Night celebrations.

"Jaelene will not be rostered tonight as she has built the final decision to not don our Pleasure jersey," the Bravery said, for every ESPN. "Whilst we're upset with her alternative, we respect her proper to make that choice for herself.”

In 2017, Daniels, formerly identified as Jaelene Hinkle prior to receiving married in 2020, cited her Christian religion as to why she then refused to have on a Pleasure-themed jersey halting her from enjoying for the U.S. women's nationwide crew.

"I just felt so convicted in my spirit that it was not my job to don this jersey," the soccer player instructed the 700 Club. "I gave myself 3 times to just look for and pray and ascertain what he was inquiring me to do in this circumstance... I understood in my spirit I was accomplishing the proper matter. I knew I was becoming obedient."

Daniels signed a a person-12 months offer with the Braveness in December amid criticism about her past comments on gay legal rights.
