Campbell crime report for the week of July 1

June 12
8:23 a.m. at Marathon and Springfield drives: A transient man, 28, was stopped for a vehicle code violation. He fled on his bicycle and was knocked to the ground and taken into custody without further incident. He claimed to have been injured during his arrest and was evaluated at an area hospital. He was determined to be found to be under the combined influence of opiates and stimulants, was in possession of a glass pipe and had five outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Overnight in the 300 block of Budd Avenue: Someone broke a light pole off the ground, causing damage and exposing live wires.
11:06 a.m. at Campbell and Railway avenues: Someone was throwing chairs, metal signs and rocks at cars causing damage to windows. Officers attempted a vehicle stop in the parking lot. The suspect drove on a sidewalk then fled.
12:26 p.m. in the 200 block of West Sunnyoaks Avenue: A transient, 29, was reportedly trying door handles.
1:34 p.m. in the 100 block of East Hamilton Avenue: A man, 24, was reported as acting suspiciously. He was located drinking a beer at the bus stop and was too intoxicated to care for himself.
12:04 a.m. at Railway and Campbell avenues: A woman, 44, was stopped for a vehicle code violation and found to be DUI.
12:53 p.m. in the 500 block of Latimer Circle: Officers located a stolen white Honda CRV.
1:25 a.m. at South Bascom Avenue and Campisi Way: A man, 47, was stopped for a vehicle code violation. He lied about his name because he knew he was on probation and was found to DUI, with three prior convictions within the last year.
June 13
2000 block of South Winchester Boulevard: Someone passed a fictitious $50 bill.
1700 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone gained entry into a shopping complex and stole copper wire. The suspect moved from business to business by knocking a hole in the wall.
12:35 p.m. in the 2300 block of South Winchester Boulevard: Someone tagged a wall.
3:35 p.m. at Camden and Curtner avenues: Someone punched the victim in the arms multiple times and fled.
1:19 p.m. in the 100 block of West Hamilton Avenue: Someone brandished a knife at the victim and demanded an undisclosed amount of money, then fled on foot northbound. The victim also fled after the incident and never called police. Officers received a report from citizens who heard shots fired. The business was checked for victims, and officers discovered an underground casino being run by a man, 51. The man was arrested and the machines were seized. The man later admitted that he fired two rounds from a pistol in the air. Two .22-cal firearms were located in the store, one of which was a revolver with two spent rounds.
9:23 p.m. in the 1870 block of South Bascom Avenue: A man was too intoxicated to care for himself and was causing a disturbance.
4:57 a.m. at Francisco Avenue and DeRose Way: Officers got a hit from a license plate reader and recovered a reported stolen car.
July 14
10:16 a.m. in the 190 block of West Rincon Avenue: A suspect barricaded himself in his bedroom with the victim and would not let her leave. Two men were hiding in a vehicle in the garage and barricaded inside with their children. After several minutes of commands, both exited holding their children. Both resisted arrest, and one attempted to fight officers. After several hours of negotiations, the first suspect and the victim exited as instructed. They were both under the influence of meth. A fourth suspect was located hiding in the attic; he had outstanding warrants and was on parole for child abuse, and he was also found to be under the influence of meth.
Overnight in the 1890 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone forced entry into a vehicle and stole items.
Overnight in the 1460 block of West Campbell Avenue: Someone forced entry into a business and stole cash. The suspect also caused a lot of damage.
10:54 p.m. in the 470 block of Dover Way: During an argument, the suspect got a baseball bat, raised it over his head and threatened the victim with it.
July 15
8:07 a.m. at Capri Drive and West Hacienda Avenue: A transient man, 21, was in a disturbance with a female. He had a misdemeanor warrant for domestic violence.
Overnight in the 1300 block of White Oaks Road: Someone stole a rear license plate.
8 a.m. in the 520 block of East McGlincy Lane: Someone used the victim’s credit card to make online purchases.
6:35 p.m. in the 2260 block of South Winchester Boulevard: During an argument over the use of a bucket, the suspect grabbed the victim’s bucket, and as she grabbed it from him, she was struck on the wrist.
7:37 p.m. in the 10 block of Hunt Way: A woman, 26, entered the victim’s detached garage through an unlocked door and had possibly been there a few days. The homeowner discovered her locked inside a bathroom in the garage. The suspect fled on the victim’s bike after she was confronted by the victim. She was located on the next street with the bike, other stolen items from the garage and drug paraphernalia. She was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and kicked an officer several times on the shin during her arrest. The bathroom was in disarray with miscellaneous items, and unknown items were burnt inside a pot located inside the bathroom.
2:32 a.m. in the 100 block of Kennedy Avenue: The victim reported someone banging on the side door which is behind a locked fence. A man, 24, was located in the fenced-in area and said he lived there. He believed he was in Sunnyvale. He gained access by climbing over the fence and in the process damaged a door hinge.
July 16
12:47 in the 200 block of East Campbell Avenue: A transient man, 36, punched the victim in the face, causing a blooding nose. He walked away but was stopped by officers around the corner.
7:15 p.m. at Central and Grant avenues: A woman, 23, struck a parked car and fled. She was located and found to be DUI.
9:10 p.m. in the 200 block of Union Avenue: A man, 57, discharged his handgun when he attempted to clean it.
12:24 a.m. in the 2000 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A woman, 33, asked people if they would sell her methamphetamine. She was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and was arrested.
2:34 a.m. at Dunster Drive and Latimer Avenue: A woman, 40, was stopped for a vehicle code violation and was arrested for DUI.
July 17
Overnight in the 300 block of Richlee Avenue: Someone made entry into a vehicle and stole tools.
Overnight in the 1400 block of Abbott Avenue: Someone vandalized the men’s bathroom.
12:54 on the Los Gatos Creek Trail: A woman was on the trail, yelling and hitting herself. She was found to be under the influence.
1 p.m. at 300 Orchard City Drive: Someone forced entry into a vehicle and tried to steal it. The steering column and ignition were both damaged.
4:08 p.m. in the 600 block of East Campbell Avenue: During a verbal argument over a road rage incident, the suspect spit on the victim then fled the scene.
6:45 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone punched the victim over a parking space dispute then fled.
12:01 a.m. at Winchester Boulevard and Hamilton Avenue: A 16-year-old was a passenger in a car stopped for a vehicle code violation. The teen, who was intoxicated, was released to his mother. A woman was stopped for reckless driving and was found to be DUI. A man immediately fled on foot but later returned and was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself.
1:26 a.m. at Grant Street and Central Avenue: A driver was stopped for a vehicle code violation and was found to be DUI.
4:35 a.m. in the 900 block of Campisi Way: A man was contacted during an alarm response and was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He possessed burglary tools, drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Additionally, he was captured on surveillance roaming the premises and propping doors to access the garage.
July 18
11:31 a.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue: Someone stole property from a business.
2:51 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A passenger in a vehicle stopped for a vehicle code violation was under the influence, in possession of methamphetamine and in possession of drug paraphernalia.
3:02 p.m. at San Tomas Expressway and Highway 17: A woman was involved in a solo collision on her motorcycle and was transported to Valley Medical Center. She was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
3 p.m. in the 1000 block of Lovell Avenue: Someone forced entry into a vehicle and stole items.
2:11 a.m. at Campbell and Dillon avenues: A woman was stopped for a vehicle code violation and found to be DUI.
July 19
5:30 a.m. in the 100 block of North San Tomas Aquino Road: Someone gained entry into a restaurant via window smash and stole property and money.
1:24 p.m. in the 2000 block of South Winchester Boulevard: A man yelled racial slurs and spit at an employee. He was found to be too intoxicated to care for himself. HE attempted to pull away from officers and upon his arrest refused to get into the patrol vehicle for several moments. Once inside the vehicle, he repeatedly smashed his head against the partition. The victim did not desire prosecution. A woman attempted to intervene in an attempt to save the suspect from arrested. She threatened to slap an officer then raised her hand to do so. Another officer grabbed her arm before she could swing.
2:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Union Avenue: A burglary report was taken where someone kicked open a garage side door. Later, the victim called to report that children from the neighborhood confessed to kicking it open. The victim and the parents settled the issue.
4:38 p.m. in the 1800 block of South Bascom Avenue: A woman punched a bartender and was found to be to be too intoxicated to care for herself. During her arrest, she attempted to pull away from officers, and kicked an officer multiple times.
Overnight in the 200 block of Esther Avenue: The catalytic converter was stolen from a motorhome.
8:24 p.m. in the 800 block of Gale Drive: During an argument, a man choked the victim, pulled her to the floor and dragged her by her hair. He broke the victim’s phone when she called 911.
12:36 a.m. at Campbell and Gilman avenues: A man was stopped for driving the wrong way on Campbell Avenue and found to be DUI.
3:03 a.m. in the 1200 block of East Campbell Avenue: A man was ringing the doorbell, but the homeowner did not know him. He was found to be under the influence.
