Funding to aid homeless, cyclists

Assemblymember Alex Lee secured $2.5 million for the City of Milpitas in the 2022-23 point out spending plan, which will help fund Milpitas’ Homeless Avoidance and Unhoused Expert services and Bike Lanes Amenities Enhancement.

“As a member of the Assembly Finances Committee, I’m honored to have secured millions of bucks to assistance my hometown of Milpitas,” Lee reported in a statement.

The state spending plan contains $1.5 million to help continuing and growing Milpitas’ mobile shower and laundry products and services for the homeless to twice a week for a few decades ($300,000), establish a Milpitas Useful resource Middle as a two-12 months pilot system ($500,000), and present lease aid to vulnerable Milpitas inhabitants ($700,000).

Milpitas also asked for $1 million to support safer bicycle website traffic. The allocation will assist update current bike lane infrastructure with inexperienced pavement and bicycle bins at intersections, buffered bicycle lanes and/or separated bikeways marked with bollards, posts or on-avenue parking.

The Santa Clara Valley Open up House Authority is web hosting two functions this month that includes bats.

On July 20, 6-7 p.m., the authority is partnering with Saved By Character and Bat Conservation International for a Zoom webinar on bat fundamental principles, San Jose bats and how to guidance bats in the backyard.

The Bat bonanza proceeds July 29 with a family members-helpful nature method in research of bats at the Little Uvas Creek Protect, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Attendees will watch the sunset and see the bats arise.
