Orlando apologizes for Independence Day message

The city of Orlando, Florida, is apologizing for reviews in a newsletter that questioned regardless of whether it was value celebrating Independence Day.

The advertisement for the Orlando July Fourth fireworks show lamented the state of the nation in the "Metropolis Read" publication sent by the metropolis on Friday.

The message in the e-newsletter was met with backlash, which includes from the Fraternal Order of Law enforcement Lodge 25, a police union in Orlando, which distanced alone from the "inflammatory" opinions.

A day after the e-newsletter was despatched out, the metropolis of Orlando apologized for the remarks in a assertion.

"The city of Orlando sincerely regrets the detrimental affect our phrases have experienced on some in our local community. We realize these words offended some of our residents, which was not our intent," the statement said. "We benefit the freedoms we have in this place and are grateful to the guys and females who fought and go on to battle for those. We just take delight in celebrating the 4th of July to convey our gratitude to those adult men and women of all ages and honor the region we are living in."
