Wine tasting itinerary: Wine, hikes and bites in charming Winters [ad_1]

Wiking in Winters? Aside from the great alliteration, there are loads of explanations to devote a Saturday afternoon soaking up the solar and the zin — or the rosé — in this little Yolo County town. With a smattering of superior-conclusion tasting rooms and a charming downtown, it’s easy to spend an entire working day amongst the vines.

Our wiking — wine + climbing — adventures have paired sips with steps through AVAs from Livermore to Healdsburg. This time, we’re working day tripping to Winters, an hour from San Francisco, so we can hit the trails in the morning and be all set for refreshment when the to start with tasting rooms open.

Initially, we hike

This location features trails of each selection, from die-difficult hikes to laid-back again strolls. Major hikers will delight in the Stebbins Cold Canyon Purely natural Reserve 10 minutes from Winters’ downtown in the vicinity of Lake Berryessa. Trails include the difficult Blue Ridge Loop (4.5 miles) and Annie’s Trail (5.7 miles), both accessible from the Homestead Trailhead, as effectively as a reasonable 2.7-mile trek to Cold Storage Ruins.
