Fairly new policy at DMV can impact countless numbers of Californians: Roadshow

In February 2020, my previous extern at the Outstanding Courtroom, who went on to turn into an amazing appellate attorney in SF, was being handled for an intense form of breast cancer. When her driver’s license expired, she had dropped all of her hair, was virtually bald, and understandably, did not want to have her image taken for her license renewal, a necessity at the time.

She questioned that the DMV use her existing photo (pre-cancer procedure). The DMV refused. So, she introduced a a single-woman campaign to get the California DMV to modify its plan to permit motorists whose bodily appearances had transformed thanks to health-related treatment plans (e.g. radiation, chemotherapy) to use their present photographs on file when renewing their licenses. On February 1, 2021, the DMV improved its photo coverage to do just that.

That policy has been in influence for just more than a 12 months now, but almost no a person is familiar with about it. With any luck ,, Mr. Roadshow will put the term out.
