Warren claims voters reported they'd have backed her for president if she 'had a penis': E book

In a forthcoming e-book detailing the experiences of female candidates on the presidential marketing campaign path in 2020, then-applicant Elizabeth Warren revealed that a number of voters crudely told her they would vote for her — but only if she was a male.

These sentiments echoed between quite a few voters, with numerous telling marketing campaign workers for the Massachusetts senator that the state would “never have a lady president.”

The anecdotes spotlight a bigger wrestle that Warren and other woman candidates had although vying for the Democratic nomination, according to the e book. And that struggle was figuring out how to encourage the region to elect a woman.

Warren’s encounters mirrored similar arguments from Hillary Clinton when she ran as the Democratic presidential nominee towards former President Donald Trump in 2016. Just after losing the election, Clinton pointed to sexism as a contributing issue to her defeat.
