Witnesses sought following California deputy shoots, wounds 1 through arrest attempt

A guy was shot Friday night by a Madera County Sheriff’s deputy in Madera.

The deputy was unharmed and is on compensated administrative as the incident is investigated, “as is prevalent with officer-involved shootings,” the Madera County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned Saturday early morning.

The deputy, whose name was not released, contacted a person with a bat about 10:45 p.m. though conducting a “subject check” in the space of Krohn and Ellis streets in Madera, according to the Sheriff’s Workplace.

The suspect, Timothy John Bray Jr., 46, of Madera, was shot by the deputy. Officers did not share details about what led to the taking pictures or the character of the wound.

The deputy “immediately furnished healthcare support right up until relieved by medics,” the Sheriff’s Business office reported.

Bray was transported by ambulance to a healthcare facility for cure of gunshot wounds and remained in stable condition Saturday morning.

“He will be struggling with felony charges of resisting arrest and assault with a lethal weapon on a peace officer,” the Sheriff’s Office mentioned.

The Madera Law enforcement Department and the Madera County District Attorney’s Place of work are overseeing the investigation, in accordance to deputies.
