Adriana Lecouvreur: a very beautiful opera for which there are still places

This Monday, Adriana Lecouvreur's premiere at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège kept its promises. Starting with the scenography and the exceptional sets, really successful, recreating a stage cage within the stage cage which lets you glimpse the boxes and imagine an audience of the Comédie-Française on the courtyard side. The set offers very beautiful scenes, even forgiving the downtime for certain set changes by technicians in costume.

Eagerly awaited in the role, Romanian Elena Mosuc delivered a fine vocal performance in the title role, creating real moments of emotion beyond her propensity to seduce the public. The entire voice cast was well applauded. Finally, the musical direction of Christopher Franklin gave all its dimension to this great moment of opera, with a homogeneous orchestra in a brilliant interpretation.

If we add the ballet choreographed by Gianni Santucci (and very successfully dressed by Carla Ricotti in the avant-garde spirit of the time when the piece was created at the very beginning of the 20th century), it's worth to invest in the remaining tickets for the next dates, April 14, 16, 18, 20 and 22. It should be noted that the role of Adriana will also be interpreted by Carolina Lopez Moreno, to whom the general manager Stefano Pace wished to trust for the last two performances.
