Borussia Dortmund is apparently planning to continue with captain and veteran Marco Reus. As reported by "Bild", the 33-year-old is about to extend his contract. The extension of the contract by one year is therefore only a formality.
There has been a lot of speculation recently about the future of Marco Reus at Borussia Dortmund . The 33-year-old's contract with his heart club expires at the end of the season, and the contract has not yet been extended. Now, however, a decision should have been made. As the picture reports, an extension of the expiring contract with the Westphalia is only a matter of form. Reus is expected to sign his new working paper, which will be valid for another year, next week.
As it goes on, Reus has to forego a considerable sum. The offensive player's salary is to be reduced from around twelve million to seven million euros, including further bonus payments. The agreement is likely to be imminent. BVB recently improved the offer for the midfielder again.
In the summer of 2012, Reus switched from Bundesliga competitor Borussia Mönchengladbach to BVB for a fee of 17 million euros, where he had already played as a youth. Since then, the offensive player has made 380 appearances in black and yellow, contributing 161 goals and 120 assists. He recently overtook club icon Michael Zorc in BVB's all-time top scorer list and is now in second place behind Adi Preißler (177). In the current season, Reus has scored eight times in 24 games and scored seven more goals.
